中美青少年有了新“朋友圈”！飞虎队友谊学校落户贵州 Flying Tigers Friendship Schools Land in Guizhou

6月22日，美中航空遗产基金会主席杰夫·格林在贵阳为贵阳市新世界学校和黄平县旧州中学授牌“飞虎队友谊学校暨青年领袖计划”，标志着这一中美青少年交流项目首次在贵州落地。

On June 22, Jeffrey Ballard Greene, Chairman of the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation, presented the designation of Flying Tigers Friendship School and Youth Leadership Program to Guiyang New World School and Huangping County Jiuzhou Middle School in Guiyang, marking the first launch of this Chinese-American youth exchange program in Guizhou.

下午5时许，授牌仪式在贵阳新世界学校举行。格林走上讲台，给台下百余名师生讲述飞虎队的故事。他说，飞虎队这个名字是中国人民起的，这份情谊值得两国年轻人永远铭记。当牌匾递交到两校代表手中时，现场响起热烈掌声。

At around 5 p.m., the  designation ceremony was held at Guiyang New World School. Greene took the stage and told the story of the Flying Tigers to teachers and students. He said the name "Flying Tigers" was given by the Chinese people, and this friendship is something young people from both countries should always remember. As the plaques were presented to the representatives of the two schools, warm applause broke out.

一同获授的黄平县旧州中学，与飞虎队有着深厚的历史渊源。旧州机场是抗战时期贵州境内唯一对日作战机场，800余名飞虎队官兵曾在此驻守。如今两所中学正式加入该计划，意味着这段80余年前的情缘在年轻一代手中得以续写。

Huangping County Jiuzhou Middle School, which also received the plaque, has deep historical ties with the Flying Tigers. Jiuzhou Airport was the only airport in Guizhou that operated against Japanese forces during the War of Resistance, and over 800 Flying Tigers troops were once stationed there. Now that the two schools have officially joined the program, this bond dating back over 80 years is being carried forward by the younger generation.
